I have to say that I was starting to feel a little left out. I was reading so many blogs from people that I know, and I thought, maybe I should do that. If not for your entertainment, but for me and my family. I know that my life is typical and boring at times, but maybe this could be a really cool way of documenting those everyday events that I take for granted. I hope to be able to do this blogging thing at least every week. I know that I am not going to get to it everyday, but maybe once a week I'll have something interesting to say.
This being my first time blogging I already have a favor to ask of you. My Uncle Jimmy, in Jacksonville, FL, was just diagnosed with lung cancer-stage 3 carcinoma. I know the power of prayer and am asking that you please start praying for him and my family. He and his wife, Aunt Janice, my parents, and another couple leave on Friday morning for their annual cruise vacation. This has really put a damper on things, but my uncle refuses to be negative about this. He wants to go on their vacation and enjoy it and then start his treatments when he returns. He will en dour chemo and radiation treatments. I pray that he remains positive ans strong during this time.
Another prayer request-my mom. She fell on Saturday and crushed her tailbone. If any of you have ever injured you tailbone you know the pain that she is in. She has a 7 hours trip to Jacksonville, FL on Friday and then a 3 hour trip to Port Canavral on Saturday. Please pray that she can make the trip without being too miserable.
On a much happier note-Reily walked for the first time. Todd and I were at home last Friday afternoon and all of a sudden Reily just let go of the sofa and took 5-6 steps and then sat down! I was soooo shocked and excited. I couldn't believe it. I, of course, called my mom right away. I knew that I was going to see my mom and grandmother the next day so I couldn't wait for Reily to show off his new "trick." He wouldn't do anythig. My mom, grandmother, and sister just looked at me like I had lost my mind as Reily would fall to the floor and start crawling every time I tried to get him to walk. Perfect, I thought, even my family thinks that I am lying, but I do have a witness, because Todd saw it too. He is so much fun and energetic. At the end of a long day all I want to do is go home and sit on the sofa, and then I pick Reily up from daycare and he has this smile on his face and I have a renewed energy.
I really think that he is going to be a talker like his Aunt LaLa (my sister, Leslie). He has starting "talking" to everybody. We when leave the daycare in the afternoons he has to tell everybody "bye bye". He talks to people in line at WalMart, he talks to my parents on the phone-the child loves to make noise.
Until next time...
